Her purse. Her key chain. Her keys. That’s okay. She also lost the house.

The husband in it. The couch. The remote. The sound of him slipping out the door.

Then, her eyelashes. Her fingernails. Her lips all tinted with gloss.

Everything except her heart. Her stupid heart. Which to tell you the truth, if she had just lost that, she could have held on to everything else.
